Celine's Fish & Chips, nestled within the vibrant Granville Island food market, has garnered a dedicated following for its quintessential offerings. The menu features a range of delectable seafood, from crispy Cod and Halibut to the tantalizing Salmon and hearty Calamari, all served with perfectly fried chips that deliver both crunch and flavor. Many reviews highlight the freshness and impeccable frying technique, ensuring each piece of fish is tender inside with a golden crust outside.
Customers appreciate the lively atmosphere, though it can get crowded, reflecting the eatery's popularity. Shabnam Hasani praised the Salmon Burger for its freshness and lighter oiliness, while Justine Marie expressed her delight at the consistency of quality during her visits from Edmonton. On the flip side, Stanley Yang noted a slight dip in their clam chowder's creaminess, suggesting a potential need for recipe refinement.
However, the loyal customer base, drawn by the signature fried oysters and bubbling sample platters, often overlooks minor flaws. With reasonable prices, especially for the classic fish and chips experience, Celine's Fish & Chips remains a must-try destination for seafood lovers exploring Vancouver.

Reviews for Celine's Fish & Chips
Review highlights
Based on 259 reviewsCeline's Fish & Chips is widely recognized for its fresh, crispy seafood offerings, particularly its fish, oysters, and calamari, which consistently receive praise for their flavor and quality. The restaurant's deep-fried seafood platters and signature tartar sauce are popular choices among visitors. While the food is generally well-regarded, some feedback points to concerns about portion sizes and recent price increases. Additionally, there are mixed impressions regarding consistency, especially with classic dishes like clam chowder, where some customers have noted a decline in creaminess and seafood content. Friendly service is frequently mentioned as a positive aspect, contributing to a welcoming dining experience at this longstanding Granville Island staple.
I've never had a salmon burger before, so I don't have anything to compare it to. However, I really liked the taste—it was fresh and not too oily, which I appreciated.
This is a staple in the Granville island food court and has been here forever. It is just me or did it taste better before. I think it has changed hands a lot of times since the 90’s but the recipes should be the same no? I ordered 2 clam chowders but found it disappointing. Tiny seafood bits with the majority of it being potatoes without the true creaminess of an original chowder. Feels like a lot of starch and it tasted bland. Also don’t remember Vietnamese salad rolls being on the menu. The economy is rough so I get it but I think it can up the quality slightly considering it is in Granville island. Still a huge line though, so maybe the fish still holds up in quality.
Deep Fried Seafood is so good. I ordered the Sample Platter ( Cod, shrimp, calamari, oyster, onion ring and fries)and Oysters with Chip. both are awesome. I also ordered Shrimp Rolls, taste ok but for the price and size, very filling. all together cost me around $60. The lady who serve us is quite friendly, as for extra souce, she smiles and gives me no questions ask. The only downside is the atmosphere, so crowded, well is located inside Granville Market.
Prices have really increased over the last few years but the food is still great. The fried oyster is a staple.
We eat at Celine’s Fish and Chips every time we visit Granville Island (we’re from Edmonton!), and it never disappoints. The food is always incredibly fresh — the fish is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I especially love their tartar sauce and the calamari — both are full of flavour and cooked just right. Everything comes out warm, crispy, and absolutely delicious. It’s become a tradition for us, and we always look forward to it. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
It's not a real experience at Granville Island without having some seafood. Celine's has been on this corner for years. It can get really really busy here so you gotta be patient. I personally have never had a bad experience so far. I've been fortunate. The tables get taken up real quick. If you are gonna eat outside watch out for those seagulls, there's no mercy
